I hate it when people think that I know nothing.

Saturday, May 22nd, 2010

God, I know that I don’t know everything, and I probably don’t know much, but I hate people who come to me and tell me “you are young, stupid and don’t know anything, so let me tell you what is right and what is wrong”.

I hate people who think they are always right and everyone else is always wrong.

This kinda people seriously pisses me off.

“Bring me the iPod.”

Saturday, May 22nd, 2010

Last night, while going to bed, I was reaching for my iPod touch when I suddenly blurted out, as if to DaddyGod, “bring me the iPod”, and it sounded interestingly similar to what David said in the Old Testament: “bring me the ephod”. (1Sa 30:7) Lol!

In the Old Testament times, the ephod is what the king (such as David, or Joshua, back in the days before Israel asked for a king) goes to in order to get guidance from God. It is also a picture of what is on Jesus’ heart (the breastplate shows us what is in Jesus’ heart). Today, the iPod contains God’s word in the form of anointed sermons and anointed music, and I have lost count of the number of times a song popped up and spoke to me, when I put my iPod touch on shuffle. It is also the source that I go to for plenty of washing of the water of the word.

Won’t be surprised if the name “iPod” came to Steve Jobs straight from Heaven. ;)

Next paper on approach vector.

And there’s nothing I’d rather fill my mind with other than Your word.

Your Saving Grace

Thursday, April 29th, 2010

Managed to jot this down during service last night. =P It’s just the chorus though. Anyone knows the verses?

Your Saving Grace
© 2010 New Creation Church

[Verse 1]
Purely by grace
I come to You
Forgiven I rise to say
Cover me with Your mercy Lord
Under Your wings I’ll stay
Show me oh Lord your ways

[Chorus]
God of my strength
I come to You
Beholding Your face I’m changed a new
Rested within Your strong embrace
Restored by Your love
Your saving grace

[Verse 2]
Righteous and bold
I come to You
Solely because You have
Your life for mine upon that cross
Love made You take my place
Now Jesus Your name I praise

EDIT: Added the first verse. Now to look out for the second verse…

Just something I realized as I was typing the lyrics out: one line says “under Your wings I’ll stay”, and amazingly, Ps Prince touched on the significance of eagles’ wings after the song was sung at P&W, and he showed from the Scriptures that eagles’ wings typify God’s grace. There was never a mention again of God’s relationship to Israel as carrying the children of Israel on eagles’ wings after the Israelites elected to come under the covenant of law. What a beautiful revelation that the picture of God carrying us on eagles’ wings is a privilege God accords only to us, people under the covenant of grace.

EDIT 2 (16 May): Yayy, have the full song! Praise Jesus! =)

God saves us from even troubles of our own making.

Thursday, April 29th, 2010

Just a short one while on bus ride over to Suntec for mid-week. (Yaay!)

I don’t know about you but I am so grateful that God saves us from every trouble, including troubles of our own making. Honestly, if God doesn’t save me from troubles of my own making, (and there are ministries that teach that) I will always have to watch out for myself and ensure that I don’t create my own problems.

Today, I walk with the attitude that I take my hands off trying not to create problems, trying not to make mistakes, trying not to fail; I have this attitude that even if I create problems, God is more than able to turn them around, and most importantly, willing to.

And in taking my hands off trying not to create problems, I realize that in itself, that lowers the risk of creating problems in the first place.

Not that I am in any trouble nowadays, but it’s just something out of meditating on God’s word. =)
